Joan Brown of Pinckneyville
Joan M. Brown, 77, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 9:50 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018 in Seton Medical Center, Round Rock, Texas.
Joan was born on Feb. 5, 1941 in Ashley, a daughter to Edward and Rose (Lamczik) Nowicki.
On July 11, 1959, she married S. Ben Welsch in Radom, and to this union four daughters were born. On Dec. 17, 1987, she married Fred Brown in Cannon County, Tennessee and he preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 2018.
Joan was of the Catholic faith. She worked for the City of Pinckneyville for more than 23 years as a secretary for the police department, parking meter attendant, secretary for the mayor and as a city clerk.
Joan was such a vibrant, beautiful lady who loved with all of her heart and will be dearly missed by many people.
Survivors include her four daughters: Gail (Dave) Vroman of Washington, Illinois, Cindy (Dan) Prylo of Farmington, Michigan, Janis Welsch of Round Rock, Texas and Amy (John) Tavernaro of Laveen, Arizona; two stepdaughters, Tammy (George) Spence of Rockvale, Tennessee and Tara (Billy) Harris of Rockvale, Tennessee; two brothers, Marvin (Zaida) Nowicki of DuBois and Gene (Kay) Nowicki of Cave-In-Rock; 12 grandchildren, Kristen, Michael (Diane), Matthew, Katie, Ben, Emma, Isabell, Janie, Taryn (Cobi), Riki Lynne (Tyler), Tessa and Tye; and many other relatives and friends.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Brown; sister, Vivian Hug; and sister-in-law, Janet Nowicki.
Private services will be held.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
