Parents Test Drive New Traffic Patterns around Middle School

Du Quoin parents Monday morning test drove the new parking lot traffic pattern at the Du Quoin Middle School. For the most part, things went well. During the morning rush hour, cars were still backed up to East Jackson Street, largely the result of parents double-parking in the traffic line to walk their children up to the back entrances of the school on the first day. Things went better during early dismissal in the afternoon and again this morning. Buses are pictured lining the main school drive at 2 p.m. for the first of five days of one hour early dismissal.
