Du Quoin Night out to Include Pageant

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Du Quoin Police Department will host its annual "Family Night Out in Keyes Park" Saturday, August 18 beginning at 4 p.m.

The 4th annual event is in partnership with the Perry County Sheriff's Department. the Pinckneyville Police Department, the State Police District 13 command, the Pinckneyville Ambulance Service, EMS and Marshall Browning Hospital.

Officer Chris Robinson of the Du Quoin department said this year's "night out" will include a little girls' pageant for two groups of children ages 4-6 and 7-9.

Lori Ichou is helping officers in that project. There is an entry fee of $25 per pageant entry which will help cover the cost of the pageant. The winner will ride in upcoming parades and participate in community events.

Everything in the park will be free. There will be blowup playgrounds and Hank Fulk is expected to provide live music.

Snow cones, hot dogs and drinks will be free to the kids. "We will have a lot of cool things including bike giveaways and a doughnut eating contest.
