Du Quoin Middle School Principal Elected President of Illinois Principals
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Illinois Principals Association announces Aaron Hill of Du Quoin, Ill. as association President for the 2012-2013 school years.
"I am excited and honored to serve as President of one of the preeminent educational associations in the nation," Hill said. "The efforts of the Illinois Principals Association have a profound impact on educational leaders and our students. I look forward to continuing the legacy of our great association and also helping lead our association and educational leaders during the 2012-2013 school year."
Hill has been active in the Illinois Principals Association as a former Region Director and State Director for the Egyptian Region (includes Washington, Jefferson, Wayne, Perry, Franklin, Hamilton, and White counties). He previously served as Treasurer (2010-2011) and President-Elect (2011-2012).
Hill has served as Principal at Du Quoin Middle School since 2004. He began his administrative career as an Assistant Principal at Freeburg Community High School in 2000 and was later named Assistant Superintendent/Principal at Freeburg in 2003. Prior to his administrative experience, Hill spent five years as a civics and geography teacher at Mt. Vernon Township High School, head Sophomore and Assistant Varsity football coach, and served as Social Studies Department Chair in 1999-2000.
"Aaron Hill is a strong and capable leader," said Jason Leahy, Executive Director of the Illinois Principals Association. "Both the Illinois Principals Association and the Du Quoin Middle School learning community are fortunate to have his leadership."
Hill resides in Du Quoin, Illinois with his wife, Stephanie, and two sons, Matt and Ben. He is a graduate of Du Quoin High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science and a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Eastern Illinois University.
The Illinois Principals Association is a leadership organization which serves over 4,200 educational leaders throughout the state of Illinois.
