Pinckneyville Jr. High Teacher Hit by Car

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[A Pinckneyville Jr. High School 5th grade teacher remains in critical condition in a Carbondale hospital after being struck by a car at the intersection of Greenbriar Road and Cheryl Drive in Carterville shortly after 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Carterville Police say Debbie Rodgers was riding her bike north on Greenbriar Road when she tried to turn left onto Cheryl Drive and turned into the path of a northbound car.

Rodgers was taken to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale with major injuries. Rodgers remained listed in critical condition Wednesday evening.
