Livestock Competition Returning to Du Quoin Fair

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[After a one-year absence, the full livestock show for seniors, as well as junior exhibitors, is returning to the 2012 Du Quoin State Fair which has brought smiles to all concerned.

This year's Fair, which runs Aug. 24 through Sept. 3. will include beef and dairy shows for both open and junior divisions as well as competition for heavy horses and mules, sheep and swine. In addition, there will be a junior show for sheep and swine exhibitors.

Entries for all livestock divisions close Aug. 1 although late entries will be accepted until Aug. 15.

In addition all competitive events normally scheduled for the Fair are returning. They include textiles, culinary, agriculture, art and hobbies as well as home show contests for virtually all types of baked goods. All home show entries are due by July 13 with late entries being excepted until Aug. 1.
