The newspaper will feature the new state-of-the art medical center in a larger story early next week. For now, here is Tuesday's groundbreaking.
The first shovels of dirt were tossed onto the site by medical director Dr. Randy Cowart, Du Quoin commissioner Rex Duncan, city treasurer Jacqueline Williams, commissioner Josh Downs, Mayor John Rednour, area Fresenius manager Tara Walker, clinical manager Anita Aldridge, Dr. Muhammad Kamran and project superintendent Barry Clark. The builder of the $2.5 million project is the Georgetown, Texas - based Embree Group, which has built several centers for Fresenius.
Real estate agents Max Keene and Liz Wilson of Shamrock Real Estate transacted the purchase of the property by Fresenius from the Bill and Chip Banks families. The building will be finished in early 2013.
