Teddy Cunningham to Run as Democrat for Perry County Board
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The deadline came to pass last week for local county party caucuses to fill empty slots on the November ballot.
Teddy Cunningham, a financial agent for Modern Woodmen of America, has filed as a Democrat candidate for Perry County Commissioner.
Cunningham was selected at a May 23 caucus of the Democrat Central Committee and will oppose Republican Bobby Kelly in the November 12 general election.
Cunningham has been a lifelong resident of Perry County and comments that he "certainly understands the struggles the county faces. The trickle-down effect gets closer to home every passing day."
Teddy and wife Cathy have been in the Pinckneyville community their entire lives. Teddy worked 31 years for Consolidation Coal Co. and is currently a financial representative for Modern Woodmen of America.
Cathy is a music teacher in the Pinckneyville school system.
Kelly and Cunningham will be seeking a six-year term on the board of commissioners which currently includes democrat Jim Epplin and republicans Bobby Kelly and Sam Robb.
