TRACK & FIELD: Williams shines at 1A State

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Du Quoin&#39;s Brandon Williams placed third in the shot put and tenth in the discus throw at last week&#39;s Class 1A Boys State Track and Field meet at O&#39;Brien Stadium in Charleston.

Williams&#39; toss of 56&#39;3 1/4 in the shot put was just shy of first place Adam Weidner of Manlius-Bureau Valley (57&#39;10 3/4) and runner-up Ryan Pearce from Villa Grove (57&#39;0 1/2).

Pearce won the discus with a mark of 166&#39;11. Williams&#39; distance in the finals was 147&#39;4.
