Coach Jason James commented: "I am so pleased with our effort today, and how the girls played. It was a slow start at the plate. The Benton pitcher did a good job of keeping us off balance with her change up."

"Having the bases loaded in the top of fourth inning, and getting out of it, changed the momentum for us. That got us going! Three more practices, and then the regional finals!"

Coach James is assisted by Jacob Emling and Lonnie James.

DuQuoin will be playing Saturday morning (11:00) against either Herrin or Johnston City for the Regional Championship. The winner of the Herrin Regional moves on to the sectional to be held in Pinckneyville.
