Du Quoin State Fair Develops Motocross Track on Grounds

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Du Quoin State Fairgrounds in cooperation with Doug Cochran, owner of the popular Paradise Motopark MX track west of Du Quoin, has begun construction of the new Indian Hills motocross track immediately east of the ski lake at the fairgrounds.

The course is being professionally engineered and will be nearly a mile long.

Cochran will lease the facility from the state for a planned schedule of regional and national amateur racing events. Those events begin May 26-28 with a second major event in mid-to-late September. The events will boost paid camping on the grounds. Fair sources say Cochran will realize ticketing and concession income from the joint venture.
