Three Injured in High Speed Chase Accident

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Three police agencies, the Pinckneyville Ambulance Service and Du Quoin firemen were all called to the scene of this head-on crash on East Park Street Road at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Local police got an ISPERN call about a possible DUI driver. Steven Taylor, 31, fled east on Park Street Road with Du Quoin officer Steve Ingram in pursuit.

Taylor was driving a white Oldsmobile at a high rate of speed, sideswiped a guardrail, spun and was struck in the passenger side door by a black Honda driven by Ian Lawrence, 20, of Du Quoin who was westbound on Park Street Road. A passenger in the Lawrence vehicle, Mark Eaton, 19, of Du Quoin was also injured.
