Lady Jackets win Bi-County Track Meet; Landon sets Record

In the girls meet, Chester finished first with 182 points followed by Red Bud (121), Waterloo (119), Sparta (56), Columbia (49) and Steeleville (14).

<b><i>The Lady Yellow Jackets individual finishers ; </i></b>Sarah Bindel won the 100 hurdles (:17.46) and won the 300 hurdles (:50.21), McKenzi Rucker won the long jump (16' 6'), won the 200 (:28.62) and finished third in the 100 (:14.15), De'Na Nesbit won the 100 (:13.69) and finished third in the 200 (:28.72), Maribeth Lawrence finished second in the triple jump (31' 4") and finished second in the 400 (1:08.05), Mikayla Atchison finished second in the high jump (4' 4") and finished third in the 800 (2:49.68), Rachel Clendenin finished second in the pole vault (6' 6"), finished third in the 300 (:58.54) and finished fourth in the 100 hurdles (:19.44), Alexandria Fedderke finished second in the long jump (15' 7"), Jenna Wingerter finished third in the triple jump (30' 6.5"), Chelsea Schroeder finished sixth in the shot put (25' 3.75"), Brandi Phelps finished fourth in the pole vault (5' 6"), Emily Reid finished third in the 3200 (13:50.24) and finished fourth in the 1600 (6:12.23), Taylor Yankey finished fourth in the 3200 (14:52.13), Holly Hartman finished fifth in the 400 (1:16.59) .The Lady Jackets relays won the 400 (:54.83), won the 800 (1:57.32) finished second in the 1600 (4:40.28) and fifth in the 3200 (10:24.67).

Landon's winning mark of 22' 9" in the long jump broke the old school record of 22' 2.5" set by Mark Stockwell in 1977. Landon also won the triple jump (43' 1.5"), high jump (6' 8") and the 400 (:51.65).

In the boys meet, Sparta finished first with 211 points followed by Waterloo (122), Chester (116), Columbia (63), Waterloo (Gibault) (22), Red Bud (11) and Steeleville (4).

The Yellow Jackets individual finishers ; Brad Bindel finished second in the discus (106' 10") and finished third in the shot put (39' 5"), Verne White finished third in the high jump (5' 8") and finished fifth in the 400 (:54.34), Andrew Frazer finished second in the long jump (20' 4.5"), finished third in the 200 (:24.36) and finished fourth in the 100 (:12.29), Issiac Wingerter finished second in the pole vault (9' 0"), Jacob Long finished fifth in the discus (96' 10"), Devin Valleroy finished fifth in the 3200 (11:05.92) and fifth in the 1600 (5:03.88), Link Cushman finished sixth in the 110 hurdles (:21.1) and finished third in the 300 hurdles (:48.28), Nick Rinehart finished tied for fourth in the 200 (:26.35). In the relays, Chester finished fourth in the 400 (:48.51), fourth in the 1600 (3:52.35). fifth in the 3200 (10:24.67) and fifth in the 800 (1:46.96) .
