BASEBALL: Johnston City rips Falcons 11-2

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Falcons struggled to keep up with Johnston City on Thursday, falling behind 7-0 before scraping their first run across the plate and eventually losing 11-2.

Ethan Keller (1-3, HBP), Troy Stewart (1-2, 2B, 2 BB, 2 R) and Christian Kistner (1-4) had the only Elverado hits in the game.

Stewart got the Falcons on the board in the third when he walked an later scored on an error. He then doubled in the sixth before coming in on another fielding mistake by the Indians on a ball hit to left by Dalton Porter.

Austin McPheron (3-4, HBP, 3 R) had three hits to lead Johnston City. Levi Tanner (2-5, R, 3 RBI), Luke McCormick (2-5, 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI) and Allen Montgomery (2-4, R, RBI) also had multi-hit days. Adam Water s(1-4, BB), Hunter Zeigler (1-4, BB, R), Lex Glasco (1-4, HR, BB, 2 R, RBI) accounted for the remainder of the Indians twelve hits.

Stewart took the loss on the mound for the Falcons, going two-and-a-third and allowing four earned runs on eight hits and four walks with three strikeouts. Keller finished out the game with four hits, a walk and a hit batter allowed over the last four-plus innings.

McPheron worked five innings for Johnston City to earn the win, surrendering just one hit and three walks while fanning ten Falcons.

Elverado (7-9) travels to Wayne City on Friday for a 4:30 p.m. contest.
