This was the closest any team has played DuQuoin in the sixteen games this season. DuQuoin's record is 16-0 overall, and 2-0 in the Conference.

DuQuoin Coach Jason James was very excited about the victory. "It was an exciting win for us. Johnston City had a good game plan with their pitcher. I was disappointed that we had 7 strikeouts particularly with runners in scoring position. We have to put the ball in play. Alexis Kohrs was money; she threw well today. Hadley Marek came up with a big base hit for us. I am proud of our effort. We have a big game tomorrow with Carterville (conference) at home." The Assistant Coach is Lonnie James.
Carterville comes to DuQuoin on Thursday for a varsity conference game. Saturday, the JV, will be hosting a tournament at home. The schedule for Saturday is as follows: 10:00 a.m. Pinckneyville vs. Elverado, Noon Mt. Vernon vs. DuQuoin, 2:00 p.m. Third Place, 4:00 p.m. Championship.
