More Charges in Weekend Truck/Motorcycle Accident

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[A Clarksville, Tenn. man appeared in Perry County Circuit Court Tuesday to face elevated felony charges of reckless homicide and aggravated DUIT following Sunday's accident south of Tamaroa that left a Pinckneyville motorcycle rider dead and several others injured.

Bond has been set at $250,000 for Thomas Harris, who remains in the Perry County Jail. A total of 16 criminal and misdemeanor counts have now been filed. Assistant Perry County State's Attorney Martin Beltz filed the complaints and said the aggravated DUI charge is actually the largest because it addresses endangering the lives of the children in his car and the death of Arlene Hackworth of Pinckneyville.

Harris will be represented by Perry County Public Defender Jennifer Foutch as the case moves forward.

The accident--and this case--will tragically change lives of families forever.

The visitation for Arlene Hackworth is Thursday from 5-8 p.m. and Friday from 8 -10 a.m. at Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville. The memorial service is Friday at 10 a.m.

Illinois State Police investigators say all victims, but one, have been released from the hospitals. The 12 and 13-year-old children riding in the Harris pickup truck have been released to their mother.

Harris is schedule to back in Perry County Circuit Court at 1 p.m. on April 30.
