</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[What can you tell us about your coaching philosophy?
Coaching philosophy, To set attainable goals for the team and myself, and to promotes the qualities needed to not only be a great baseball player but also what it takes to be a good and caring person. Success is not measured only by wins and losses but also the amount of hard work and determination put into the program.
What have been your greatest challenges coaching this team?
Tough question; The group of young men I have the honor of coaching this year are one of the finest groups to go through Chester in many years. The greatest challenge to me as a coach will be knowing when and how to utilize them and their many talents. Also, given our recent success, to make sure our team does not become complacent.
What is one of your more memorable moments as a coach?
To many to count, going to list some in no particular order other than Chronological: Beating Pinckneyville in 2009, as major underdogs and behind the great pitching of David Winters we were able to pull off a 4-3 victory. Beating Shawnee in the bottom of the 13th 2-1 in 2010, Jeremy Wahl drove in the winning run. Justin Eggemeyer throwing out two runners at home back to back last year in the bottom of the eighth at Eldorado to keep the game tied. Coming back from a 8-1 deficit in the opening game of the Steeleville Tournament against Trico last year, we would go on to beat Sparta and take 1st place in the tournament. Starting this year 6-1!
