</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Every Panther hitter in the lineup had at least one hit and Bryant Shute threw his second consecutive shutout, this time going a full seven innings as Pinckneyville clobbered Trico 7-0 on Monday afternoon in Campbell Hill.

Justin Bumann singled with two outs in the bottom of the second and came around to score on Noah Hepp's RBI double to give PCHS an early 1-0 lead.

C.J. Opp, who was 3-for-3 with three singles and a walk on the day, delivered a base hit with one down in the third, then Joey Burris drove him in with a two out RBI for a 2-0 advantage.

On the hill, Shute didn't allow a single base runner until a two out walk in the top of the fourth. In all, the right-hander surrendered just a pair of hits, walked three and struck out seven while throwing 59 of his 83 pitches for strikes.

The Panthers opened the flood gates in the bottom of the sixth with a five spot. Evan Chapman, Luke Miller, Shute and Opp all drove in runs in the frame, Chapman bringing in two runs with a double.

Hepp (2-4, 2B, R, RBI) and Marian Brammeier (2-4, R) joined Opp with multi-hit games for PCHS against the Pioneers. Shute (1-4, 2B, RBI), Miller (1-3, R, RBI), Burris (1-4, R, RBI), Bumann (1-4, R), Chapman (1-4, 2B, R, 2 RBI) and Dylan Hardin (1-3, SAC) also had hits for the Panthers.

Shute (2-0) has now tossed twelve straight innings of shutout baseball with eleven strikeouts.

The Panthers (2-1) are back in action on Wednesday, when they hope to finally be able to play a varsity game on the new infield grass at Rigdon Field. Marion comes visiting at 4:30 p.m., followed by Steeleville the next day.
