Elverado managed just two hits and struggled through a rough seven-run second inning by the Bulldogs, falling 11-1 at Sparta in five innings on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bulldogs jumped on Elverado starter Brian McClanahan with six hits, also taking advantage of two costly errors, three wild pitches and two hit batsmen in the left-hander's two innings of work. Sparta led 9-0 after two frames while the Falcons didn't have a hit until the fourth.
Troy Stewart had a one-out walk in that inning, then McClanahan got into one to deep center for an RBI double and EHS's only run of the day.
Wade Bowlin threw three innings of relief for the Falcons, allowing two runs on two hits and four walks. Bowlin also had the only other Elverado hit, a single in the fourth.
EHS (3-2) is on the road again Thursday, taking on Dongola. The Falcons return home to Dowell on Friday to face West Prairie.
