Four different Lady Falcons drove in runs and Corrine Wilson handled the pitching duties, allowing just one earned run on six hits and no walks, striking out eight.
"Corrine did another great job on the mound and our defense made the plays when we needed to," said EHS head softball coach Donette Wheatley. "We bounced back in the fourth inning after a couple of miscues and spotting them two runs - Abby Grammer, freshman Cheyenne Abbadusky and Meghann Trammel all had big hits in that inning."
With Sparta up 1-0 and at the plate with two outs in the third, an error brought home another run for the Lady Bulldogs to extend their lead. In the top of the fourth, however, Elverado had four hits and took command of the game.
Erika Will led off with a single and scored on a one out double by Grammer. After a walk to Alicen Torres, Abbadusky brought in Grammer with a single and Kelsey Leland followed with an RBI on a fielder's choice. Meghann Trammel then singled to drive in Abbadusky for a 4-2 lead.
The Lady Bulldogs got one back in the sixth, but in the seventh, two walks and hit batter led to another RBI for Leland and EHS.
Wheatley praised her team's defense, specifically "Kelsey Leland in left, Cheyenne (Abbadusky) at second and Qualls ended the game with a great one-hopper, hard-hit ball at third."
"This was a big win for us!"
The Lady Falcons (3-0) look to continue their roll at Dongola on Thursday and Marissa on Friday.
