Girl Scouts 100th Anniversary kicks off on March 12
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois will kick off its year-long celebration of Girl Scouting's 100th Anniversary on March 12, with a Sunrise Ceremony in Glen Carbon at 7 a.m. and a Sunset Ceremony in Mt. Vernon at 6 p.m. During these two ceremonies, Girl Scouts will perform a Flag Ceremony, local mayors will present Girl Scouts a proclamation announcing it Girl Scout day in each of the communities, and there will be an unveiling of a 100th Anniversary Girl Scout quilt (made by girls and volunteers) and historical displays for attendees to view. Media are invited to come out and cover this important milestone for the Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois provides a premier Girl Scout Leadership Experience to 14,000 girls and 4,800 adult volunteers.
