Helmers receives scholarship

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Ashley R. Helmers, of Chester, has been awarded an Academic Scholarship to attend Southern Illinois University Carbondale for the 2012 fall semester. Helmers is receiving the transfer Scholarship Award that is valued at $1,000. Scholarships are based upon academic merit and potential for superior achievement in college.

Helmers, who will be a 2012 graduate of Southwestern Illinois College, is the daughter of Randy and kathy helmers. Her honors and awards include Southwestern Illinois College Dean's List and Phi Theta Kappa member. Helmers is also involved in extracurricular activities including Lifetime Girl Scout.

Helmers plans to study Crop?Science.
