BASKETBALL: Lady Falcons can't handle Goreville
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The eighth-ranked Goreville Lady Blackcats spoiled Senior Night at Elverado High School on Wednesday, racing to a 64-26 victory over the Lady Falcons to improve to 24-2 on the season.
The contest's outcome was never in doubt after Goreville stormed their way to a 20-11 first quarter. Ten different Lady Blackcats scored in the game.
The lone senior for EHS, Lacey Qualls, led the Lady Falcons with 8 points. Corine Wilson had 7, Paige Newfarmer and Rebecca Korando 4, and Hannah Rawson 3.
Alison Webb had 19 points to lead Goreville.
Elverado's girls return to the floor at Trico on Thursday night in their final regular season game before Regional play begins at Marissa on Monday night.
