Pinckneyville Hospital to Partner with Nashville on Surgical Services

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Pinckneyville Community Hospital saw an operating income of $19,399 and a net income of $45,970 in November. Hospital Administrator Tom Hudgins said the net income included a substantial liability insurance credit.

PCH received a credit of $117,000. Hudgins also noted that the 2012 premium is $12,027 less than the 2011 premium. The policy is with Illinois Provider Trust.

The year-to-date operating loss is $262,814 and the net loss is $47,952. The net income or loss includes non-operating expenses and revenue.

PCH could finish the year in the black. November is the seventh month in the current fiscal year.

"We&#39;re gaining ground," Hudgins said.

In other business, the board:

opted not to provide transportation for Senior Life Services clients at this time. There were questions about reimbursement and regulation of transportation services.

heard that the grant for a new emergency propane supply and new roofs have been approved. The hospital will receive their funds after the final paperwork is complete. The work will be done this spring.

authorized Hudgins to execute a contract with Washington County Hospital in Nashville for surgical services by Dr. Alfonso Urdaneta. Dr. Urdaneta will come to Pinckneyville on Tuesdays.

approved the purchase of a replacement air conditioning system for the CT scan room at a cost of $23,532. The current system has frozen up several times; the coils in the ceiling above the CT scanner drip when thawed. There has been no damage to the machine. However, the new system will have the coils outside the building, negating the possibility of water damage.

approved the purchase of a new treadmill for $5,622.

set a tentative meeting date to discuss options for the future of the hospital building for Jan. 24 at 5 p.m. in the conference room. The date will be finalized after a Jan. 18 special meeting at Red Hawk Golf Club to hear an update on the Process Improvement Project under way at the hospital from Scott Goodspeed.
