The Perry County Sheriff's Department says Donna Long was awakened during the night feeling very nauseated, then went into daughter Amanda' bedroom to check on her. Both were rendered nearly unconscious, but managed to call '911'.
A neighbor hear the callout on the scanner and met medical personnel at the house. Both mother and daughter had to be pulled from the house and were taken to the Pinckneyville hospital for treatment.
Authorities suspect a faulty furnace vent was the cause of problem, but the incident is still under investigation.
