Chester wins big

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Chester&#39;s varsity football squad ended a rough season on a positive note Friday night with an impressive 29-6 win over Hamilton County. The Yellow Jackets scored on their first possession of the game with a long drive that was with a Stephen Roth 1 yard run for a touchdown at the 4:17 mark. The blocked extra point attempt left the score at 6-0.

Chester put together another long drive in the middle of the second quarter that resulted in six points on a two yard run by Tyler Brockhouse at the 4:40 mark. The two point conversion made it 14-0.

It looked like Chester might take a shutout into the halftime locker room, but the Foxes completed a 20 yard pass play for a touchdown as time ran out. The score stood at 14-6 after the extra point attempt was blocked.

Chester put the contest away with scores on two key possessions in the second half. A 29 yard pass from Jake Lochhead to Caleb Arbeiter plus and extra point gave the Yellow Jackets seven points at the 6:17 mark of the third quarter, then a three yard run by Tyler Brockhouse plus a successful two-point conversion with 7:19 left in the contest made the final score 29-6.

While the first half moved at a fairly brisk pace, the second half slowed to a crawl due to the numerous penalties called and the frequent incomplete passes thrown by the Foxes. A total of 15 penalties were called against Hamilton County in this contest and Chester was flagged 14 times. Hamilton County&#39;s quarterback finished with only five completioins and three interceptions in 23 attempts.

Leading rushers for Chester were Roth with 105 yardsand Brockhouse with 85. Joel Clendenin was held to only 14 yards due to an injury.

Lochhead completed three passes for 52 yards. Arbeiter was the leading receiver for the Yellow Jackets, who finished their season with a record of four wins and five losses.
