SOFTBALL: Morrow, Yates lead PJHS into Regional Championship
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Pinckneyville Junior High School advanced into the finals of the Class M Region IV Regional with a 5-2 win over Sparta on Tuesday, breaking a 2-2 in the sixth on 2-RBI base hit by Brooklyn Morrow.
Morrow was also the winning pitcher, fanning thirteen hitters and going the distance for the Junior Lady Panthers, who will meet either Trico or Sesser-Valier in Monday's championship game at 4:00 p.m. in Pinckneyville.
Raygan Yates' 2-RBI double put PJHS on top 2-0 in the third, but Sparta chipped away with a run in the fourth and another in the sixth to tie the game at 2-2.
Morrow's 2-RBI drive to centerfield in the sixth plated the go-ahead runs for Pinckneyville before another came home on a bases-loaded walk.
Trico and Sesser-Valier meet at 4:00 p.m on Thursday in the other semifinal.
