SPORTS: Chester Opens Season With Loss

A big crowd went home disappointed Friday night as the Yellow Jackets lost their football season opener to Vienna by a score of 33-14.

The squads traded points during the first three quarters. Chester got on the board first with a three yard run by Joel <span class="mark" id="misspell-0" style="right: auto; ">Clendenin</span> and an extra point from Austin Rede<span class="mark" id="misspell-1">cker</span> the 6:14 mark of the first quarter. The Eagles tied things up with a short run and an extra point early in the second quarter. With no more scoring the rest of the second, the game stood at 7-7 at halftime.

Vienna took a six point lead on a long touchdown run with 4:10 left in the third, but the Yellow Jackets came right back and scored on an 18 yard pass play from Jake<span class="mark" id="misspell-2">Cowan</span> to Caleb <span class="mark" id="misspell-3">Arbeiter</span> and another extra point from Red<span class="mark" id="misspell-4">ecker</span> with 0:23 left.
