In Du Quoin Community Unit District 300 those numbers add up to a student population of 1,509 as the new year begins.

The core numbers include 599 at the Du Quoin Elementary School, 418 in the Du Quoin Middle School and 424 at the Du Quoin High School. Those numbers total 1,441 compared to 1,453 for the same week in 2010. By adding the 68 students enrolled in the Tri-County program, etc. you get to the number 1509.
