Speaker: Randy Dudenbostel thanked members for the opportunity to address the group. Randy serves as Director of Materials Management at Memorial Hospital of Chester and as Randolph County Coroner. He reported on the increased recycling efforts at Memorial Hospital which now includes equipment such as wheelchairs and walkers. Other items including cardboard, paper and plastics are also recycled at Memorial. He reported that it requires extra effort from the staff and administration but it is worth it to help save our natural resources.
Randy reported that the Coroner's office is dealing with more drug related deaths. No deaths have occurred yet in Randolph County from the use of Bath Salts and most drug related deaths are from misuse of prescription drugs. He reported that a lot of heroin use is now seen in Randolph County as the substance is currently cheap. He said the source of heroin coming into the county is unknown.
