SWIMMING: Dolphins hold off Nashville
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Nashville Blue Racers visited the Bender Municipal Swimming Pool on Tuesday, July 19, and Pinckneyville's Dolphins came away with a 368-306 team victory led by three individual event wins from Savannah Cheek, Deja Jenkel and Coleman Choate.
Cheek took first place in the girls 11-12 50m backstroke, 50m butterfly and 100m Individual Medley events while Jenkel was the winner of the 8-&-under 25m backstroke, 25m butterfly and 25m freestyle races. Choate was the boys 15-18 winner in the 50m butterfly, 100m freestyle and 100m IM.
Swimmers who took home two event victories were Karson Konkel (boys 6&un 25m backstroke, 25m freestyle), Audrey Stevenson (girls 6&un 25m backstroke, 25m freestyle), Zach Hall (boys 15-18 100m backstroke, 100m breaststroke), Nile Adcock (boys 8&un 25m butterfly, 25m freestyle), Barrett Denny (boys 8&un 25m backstroke, 25m breaststroke) and Ian Henne (boys 13-14 50m butterfly, 100m freestyle).
Pinckneyville's other winners were Gailen Hall (boys 13-14 100m backstroke), Deanne Brand (girls 15-18 100m backstroke), Alivia Owings (girls 8&un 25m breaststroke), Ryan Brueggemann (boys 11-12 50m breaststroke), Alizabeth Owings (girls 11-12 50m breaststroke), Emily Shanklin (girls 11-12 50m freestyle) and Sarah Loos (girls 15-18 100m freestyle).
All top four individual finishes for Pinckneyville are listed on page 7 of Thursday's Du Quoin Evening Call.
The Dolphins' next meet is 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Red Bud.
