Hayes named new Rotary president

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Rotary Club of Chester met at Ol' Farmhouse on Wednesday, July 6, 2011.

President Danny James passed the gavel to incoming President Steve Hayes. A lovely wooden box with the Rotary emblem and engraving was presented to President Danny James as an expression of gratitude for all his years of service to the Rotary Club of Chester. Steve Hayes thanked Danny for his service and mentorship. Danny expressed thanks to all members and pledged support to the new officers.

Members were pleased to welcome guests Lyle Kipp and Dale Kipp, sons of member Ralph Kipp. Lyle was visiting from Naperville and Dale was visiting from Virginia.

Members were reminded to pay dues to Treasurer Gary Breckinridge.

Bill Rabe complimented Steve Hayes on the new sign at Memorial Hospital.

Barb Brown reminded members about the Randolph County Relay for Life event to be Friday, July 8 at Sparta.
