Brent Kreid returned to the Friendly Little City to assist the 204 Board of Education with their executive search.

Superintendent Patty Wood accepted a position with another school district at the end of the 2010-2011 school year.

Kreid served as Principal at Pinckneyville District 50 from 2002 to 2006 and as Superintendent at Pinckneyville Community High School from 2006 to 2009. He left PCHS in 2009 when his children were given the opportunity to attend the prestigious Brentwood Academy in Brentwood, Tennessee.

He said his wife and four children remain in Tennessee. Kreid will drive back and forth on weekends. The two oldest Kreid children will be in Sixth and Tenth Grades at Brentwood. The younger children are in Second and Fourth Grades. Brentwood is open to students in Sixth through Twelfth grades.

"I was approached by a board member about coming back temporarily and decided that it was doable," Kreid said. He began July 1 and his contract runs through June 30, 2012.

The board is aware that he is still pursuing opportunities in Tennessee and will bid him farewell if he finds a permanent position before June 30.

In the meantime, he is fulfilling the dual role of Superintendent and Principal at CCSD 204 and helping to find his replacement.

"It was a bit late in the game to hire a permanent Superintendent for this year," Kreid said. "Normally, you try to turn over those positions in the winter."
