In the first game of <span class="Object" id="OBJ_PREFIX_DWT286"><span class="Object" id="OBJ_PREFIX_DWT287">Sunday</span></span>'s home doubleheader Sparta topped Steeleville by a score of 10-3. It looked like it might be an easy night for the home squad as they put up three runs in the first, but after that it was all Sparta. They cut into the lead with two runs in the third, then took complete control with three in the fourth and fie in the seventh.
Arbeiter and Bunselmeyer each had a home run while Kettner and Tyler Coleman added singles. Kilgore was the starting pitcher and took the loss while Brenden Cook worked in relief. Sparta roughed up Steeleville's pitching staff for nine hits in this contest.
Steeleville regrouped between games and came up with a 7-5 win in the second game. Steeleville again got off to a great start with two in the first, one in the second, one in the fourth and three in the fifth. Sparta did all of their scoring late in the contest with two runs in the fifth, one in the sixth and two in the seventh. Sparta could have done even more damage in that last inning as they left the bases loaded.
Top offensive threats for Steeleville were Kettner with a home run and a single, Darin Winkelman with two doubles, Clint Young with a double and a single, Wahl with two singles and Bunselmeyer with one single.
Rowold was the winning pitcher, allowing 10 hits, six walks and striking out four. Cook pitched one inning of relief and allowed one hit, walked one and struck out two.
