</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Board of Education of Chester Community Unit School District No. 139 met in the Chester School District Unit Office on June 16, 2011. President Beers called the Regular Meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Vicky Beers presented Ms. Keim her plaque since she was unable to receive it at the end of year breakfast.
Charlie Bargman wished Ms. Keim farewell and enjoyed working with her.
?The Board approved the minutes for the Regular Meeting and Executive Session of May 19, 2011.
The Board approved the minutes for the Special Meeting and Executive Session of May 26, 2011.
Rich Clasen updated the Board on the Technology Department.
Scott Bert updated the Board on the Maintenance Department.
Mike Coffey updated the Board on the Athletic Department.
Mr. Lochhead, Grade School Principal, reported to the Board of Education:
May 24th Board members toured the Grade School.
May 26th was the 8th grade Graduation.
Mr. Lochhead updated the Board on the Health Life-Safety Projects and the Gym Floor.
Ms. Keim, District Superintendent, reported to the Board of Education:
Ms. Keim updated the Board on the finances.
Ms. Keim informed the Board about the abatements.
The Board approved the district bills in the amount of $397,935.92 and district payroll in the amount of $206,442.36 as presented.
The Board approved the following consent agenda items:
The resignation of Connie Clendenin, Grade School Head Track Coach.
Adopting the Prevailing Wages Act.
The Facility Use for Jenna Wingerter to use the High School Track for her Girls Scout Gold Award.
Tuesday, June 21st at 12:00 p.m. for a Special Board meeting to approve the Official 2010-2011 Amended Budget.
The reassignment of Alisa Herrell from 3rd grade teacher to 2nd grade teacher.
The reassignment of Melissa Duncan from 1st grade teacher to 3rd grade teacher.
The reassignment of Rachel Ranta from 4th grade teacher to 1st grade teacher.
The reassignment of Stephanie Jany from 7/8 Social Studies to 4th grade teacher.
The reassignment of Connie Clendenin from Jr. High Language Arts to 7/8 Social Studies.
The reassignment of Tammy Cowan from 2nd grade teacher to 3rd grade teacher.
The reassignment of Becky Vieregge from Early Childhood to 3rd grade teacher.
The reassignment of Monica Gorecki from 3rd grade teacher to Early Childhood teacher.
The Board approved the resolution to abate $110,000 working cash to the building fund.
The Board approved to resolution to abate $19,000 working cash to the education fund.
The Board approved the second reading of the Chester High School 2011-2012 Handbook.
The Board approved no increase in school fees and lunch prices for the 2011-2012 school year. Fees will be the same as the 2010-2011 school year.
The Board discussed attending the School Board Conference in November.
The Board approved the employment of Jenny Krantz, Jr. High Language Arts Teacher, for the 2011-2012 school year.
The Board approved the employment of Linda White, High School Spanish Teacher for the 2011-2012 school year.
The Board approved Erin Oglesby for the High School Head Softball Coach.
The Board approved Steve Spears for the High School Head Boys Track Coach.
The Board approved Charles Knowles for High School Head Girls Basketball Coach.
The Board approved Tracy Colvis for Grade School Head Softball Coach.
The Board entered into executive session at 7:50 p.m. to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body.
The Board returned to open session at 8:33 p.m.
The Board accepted the CEA's request for bargaining. The committee will be Vicky Beers, Micah Reiman and Adam Gibbs will be the alternate.
The Board adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
