English Teacher to Resign From Du Quoin High School Staff
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Du Quoin Board of Education meets Thursday at 6:30 p.m.in regular session and will take up district staffing matters during the meeting.
The board will accept the resignation of Du Quoin High School English teacher Crystal Harsy effective at the end of the present school year. Mrs. Harsy is said to be accepting a teaching position elsewhere.
The board will meet in executive session to consider filing that position and filling extra-curricular positions in the district, as well.
The board will adopt a resolution for the abatement of property taxes, discuss the FY 2012 school budget, consider changes in the elementary school retention policy, consider lunch and breakfast pricing for the next school year, renew the district's health insurance plan for the 2011-2012 school year along with consideration of a flexible benefit program and consider a request for a student to attend a national FBLA conference.
The board is also expected to hear an update on phases of the DHS construction program, an update on state funding for Pre-K-12 education and sharing information related to ESEA reauthorization.
The meeting is open to the public and is held in the library at the Middle School.
