Illinois Treasurer Dan Rutherford announces smart women smart money conference

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Illinois State Treasurer's office is partnering with Dollars and Sense, Inc. to bring the 2011 Smart Women Smart Money conference to Springfield. This year, the event will be held on June 22, 2011, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Springfield Hilton, located at 700 East Adams Street.

The plenary speaker will be Mitch Meyers, the advertising executive who created the award-winning Bud Light Spuds McKenzie ad campaign for Anheuser Busch. Meyers also serves on corporate advisory boards and is the president of the SIUE Foundation Board.

The luncheon speaker will be Illinois Treasurer Dan Rutherford, who spent 18 years as a state lawmaker and 25 years an executive of a Fortune 100 company.

The conference will include several breakout sessions consisting of the following topics:

"This conference is designed to help women learn new skills and techniques to navigate today's economic landscape. It is a great opportunity to network with other like-minded individuals as well as check out a wide variety of vendors," said treasurer deputy chief of staff Kitty Watson.
