Perry County Sheriff's blotter

The following incidents were obtained from Perry County Sheriff Steve Bareis. Note that arrests, charges and citations are allegations only, not findings of guilt.

October 19

Deputies arrested Courtney Moyers, 28, of West Frankfort at 2:50 p.m. on a warrant for contempt of court. Moyers was picked up in Franklin County and taken to the Perry County Jail.

October 20

Deputies responded at 3:41 p.m. to a two-vehicle crash on Rt. 4. The investigation revealed that a 16-year-old juvenile male of Percy was exiting a parking lot in a Ford Explorer when he struck a BMW driven by Cierra L. Scott, 17, of Percy. Both vehicles sustained minor damage, and no one was injured.

Deputies cited Carissa D. Deal, 30, of Evansville, Ind., for speeding following a traffic stop at 9:13 p.m. on Rt. 154 at Cypress Drive.

Deputies cited Bonnie S. Clark, 36, of Christopher for speeding following a traffic stop at 11:36 p.m. on Rt. 154 at Brian Drive.

October 21

Deputies responded at 9:22 p.m. to a traffic crash on Panda Bear Road south of Leopard Road. The investigation revealed that a passenger car driven by Devin M. Johnson, 19, of Panama City, Fla., was traveling northbound on Panda Bear Road when Johnson failed to negotiate the curve and struck multiple trees. Johnson said he wasn't paying attention. He was not injured, although the vehicle sustained major damage and was towed from the scene by Emlings Towing.

October 22

Deputies cited Samont A. Samant, 19, of Centralia for speeding following a traffic stop at 12:53 a.m. at Rt. 51 and Hardscrabble Road.

Deputies responded at 6:59 p.m. to a traffic crash on Kathleen Road south of Rod and Gun Club Road. The investigation revealed that a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Andrew B. Lunnemann, 29, of Du Quoin was traveling southbound on Kathleen Road when Lunnemann swerved to miss a deer, ran off the roadway, struck two culverts and overturned the vehicle. Lunnemann sustained only minor injuries, although the vehicle sustained major damage and was towed from the scene by Watts Towing.

Deputies arrested Roy L. Mueller, 52, of Dowell at 10:09 p.m. in Tamaroa on a charge of violating an order of protection. Mueller was taken to the Perry County Jail on $1,500 bond.
