We Remember…Memorials for Sgt. Jerry Lively, Officer Maurice Hill Added to Thoughtful Wall

They honor the memory of fallen officers and friends of the department.
It's a dubious "hall of fame" honoring those who served law enforcement.
The most recent additions are plaques honoring the memory of Sgt. Jerry Lively (1928-2011 at top left) ) who served from 1968 to 1977. Officer Lively suffered a debilitating brain aneurysm at the height of his law enforcement career.
Before that, the city lost Maurice Hill (1940-2009 at lower left), who served for a time as a full-time officer, later an auxiliary officer and finally a police dispatcher.
The memorials join those honoring the late Chief James Booker (1953-2007), police commissioner and retired fire chief Richard Fronek (1945-2007), officer John Kelley (1893-1921), Luke Jones (1941-1998), Deputy Sandy Kalb (1951-1991), dispatcher Elizabeth Phillips (1949-2005) and Trp. Randall Kupfers (1961-1989).
Each plaque contains a poem or some memorial thoughts. Interestingly enough, Rich Fronek wrote his own epitaph. If you get the chance, it's a wall you need to see.
