Education of our youth is an important program of the American Legion. In addition to local Posts awarding scholarships, many are also awarded each year at the Department Convention in Illinois and also at the National Conventions. Many of these scholarships are renewable for four years. Students should check with their high school after the first of the year for applications for the various scholarships. Criteria varies per scholarship and all applications must be completed accurately before being reviewing by the Education Committee.

Commander Wagner and members of Post 487 wish our students success in their educational endeavors for they will be the "leaders" of the future..
