Event of the Day
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Evansville is celebrating their 140th year, having been organized December 26, 1871. Members, former members, friends and guests are invited to the special anniversary service this Sunday, June 12 at 8:30 am. Reverend Herbert Mueller will be the guest preacher, basing his message on the Scripture readings for Pentecost. He is the Vice President of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and previously was the President of the Southern Illinois District. The service will also feature music from the choir and soloists, as well as the installation of Vacation Bible School teachers, which starts June 13 at 9 am.
A potluck lunch will be held at 11:30 am Sunday, and all are invited to come, especially members of St. John's-Ruma.
