Marcello's Pizza under new ownership
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Marcello's Pizza located at 967 State Street in Chester was recently purchased by Ryan Waltemate, of Chester.
Waltemate grew up in Ellis Grove and attended High School in Chester. After graduation he attended Culinary School at SWIC where he studied under Oliver Sommer, Certified Executive Chef.
After college he worked at several fine dinning restaurants in St. Louis, Mo., Including Squires, 609, Bushes Grove and AmeriStar Casino.
Waltemate intends on changing Marcello's from a pizzeria to an actual Italian Restaurant with new flavors for Chester. A big menu renovation will be coming soon along with the business being open 7 days a week, which begins on May 18th.
"I want to have a scratch kitchen, everything here will be made from a raw product. I don't want to order in ingredients and then heat them up," commented Waltemate.
Marcello's has been in Chester for around 15 years and Waltemate plans on it being here for many years to come with a new menu to boot.
