On Wednesday, Matt Miller threw four solid innings on the mound, allowing four hits, a walk and a pair of runs while striking out four. Unfortunately, by the time Miller took the hill, the Bearcats' damage had been done.
Galatia got three runs in the first inning and five in the second before Miller relieved Troy Stewart and Brian McClanahan in the fourth, and the Falcons trailed 8-1. Miller had walked and scored in the third to get EHS on the board.
After the Bearcats tacked on a run in both the fourth and fifth innings, Troy Stewart singled and scored when Eli Fennell drew a walk in the bottom of the sixth for the Falcons' other run.
Stewart (2-4, R), McClanahan (2-4) and Bryce Mathis (2-for-5) each had a pair of hits for Elverado. Wesley Ramsey (1-4, 2B) and Antonio Bombardo (1-4) also hit safely.
Eldorado came to Dowell on Thursday and wasted no time jumping out to a 5-0 first inning lead with five hits off of Falcons' starter Fennell on their way to a short game win.
EHS got a run in the second when Fennell walked and scored, then two more in the third on an RBI double by McClanahan that drove in Mathis and Stewart.
Mathis (1-2, R, BB), Miller (1-3), McClanahan (1-3, 2B, 2 RBI) and Collin Hester (1-3) had hits for the Falcons.
McClanahan relieved Fennell in the fourth and didn't allow a hit over two innings of work, but walked five batters and hit two more in allowing four runs.
Elverado takes on Carmi White County in Dowell in Monday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
