Sparta completed the season sweep of Pinckneyville with a 9-2 decision at Greg Hale Field on Thursday as PCHS connected for only three hits off of Lady Bulldogs' starter Alexis Kohrs.
Sparta jumped ahead 3-0 in the top of the first off of Pinckneyville pitcher Emily Chapman and never trailed in the game, handing the Lady Panthers their sixth consecutive loss.
Maddy Keith, Mo Ramsey and Shersty Stanton (RBI) each had one hit for Pinckneyville. Sparta racked up 11 combined hits off of three Lady Panther pitchers.
Chapman took the loss, eventually yielding to Kayla Martin and Sara Malanowski in the pitching circle.
With prom taking place on Friday, Pinckneyville (15-8, 2-5) is off until Tuesday when they are scheduled to travel to West Frankfort for a 4:00 p.m. game.
