DuQuoin jumped at the chance to play because of all the cancellations this week due to weather. Coach Jason James was happy that he and team traveled to Carbondale because they came away with the victory. The score was 8-2 in DuQuoin's favor.
Carbondale managed to score two runs in the third inning. Both runs were unearned. DuQuoin scored early with four in the first inning, one in the third, one in the fifth, and two in the sixth. Cassidy Rice was the winning pitcher for DuQuoin running her record to 12-5. She pitched all seven innings, allowing two runs (unearned), seven hits, 1 walk, and had 7 strikeouts.

The team's record is now 15-5 overall and 1-5 in the conference.
Coach James thought "Rice did very well tonight. She did a great job of hitting her spots. Hitting wise, I thought we were a lot more focused, and knew what to do with the ball when it was pitched. Our bench was in the game tonight. That picked us up a lot."
