Improvements and activities at Chester Library
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The past few months have been busy inside and outside the Chester Public Library. Two projects have been completed: a much needed new front door was installed and an automatic door opener was added to the back entrance to make it completely handicap accessible. Both projects were accomplished through donations to the Chester Public Library Memorial/Gift Fund.
Contributions to the Memorial/Gift Fund are given to the Library in honor of special occasions, in memory of deceased loved ones or as charitable donations. In 2010, a Memorial Book Case was established to recognize generous gifts. Recently, the following contributions were recognized:
In memory of Reuel Allison by Ruby Allison and sons
In memory of Virginia Natho by her family
In memory of Vicki Jany by her family and friends
Gifts were given by C.H.S. Alumnus Dr. James Sharp
In memory of Jake Sharp
In memory of Edna Sharp
And to honor is sister and brother-in-law, C.H.S. Alumni Rosanna & Charles Myers
To preserve and protect the building, work on the exterior is currently taking place. The original 1927 building will be tuckpointed, power washed and water sealed. The work is a City of Chester Capital Improvement Project.
