The IPHCA presented this award to Costello in recognition of his longstanding commitment to policies that advance quality health care, including his support for the Affordable Care Act and his efforts to secure funding for community health centers. Costello also received this award in 2006.
The Illinois Primary Health Care Association is a non-profit trade association of community health centers that proudly serves as Illinois' sole primary care association. IPHCA strives to improve the health status of medically underserved populations by fostering the provision of high-quality, comprehensive health care.
"I am honored to receive this award, and I will continue to work to ensure that rural areas of the country and other underserved groups have access to quality medical care," said Costello. "I also want to acknowledge the important work that the Illinois Primary Health Care Association has been doing for nearly three decades to guarantee that Illinois is meeting the health care needs of all of our communities."
