Addison Eggertson went the first four and a third innings before control problems forced him to make way for Dakota Pratt who finished off the Falcons despite a messy fifth inning where Elverado scored three times without registering a base hit.
Matt Miller reached on an error, then Wesley Ramsey and Dakota Bayles both walked to load the bases. All three would cross the plate before the end of the inning as Bryce Mathis reached on an error, Eli Fennell walked and Christian Kistner picked up an RBI with his base on balls.
Brian McClanahan retired the first seven batters he faced in order, but ended up with the loss after four and two-thirds innings of work, striking out five. Miller finished out the game on the hill for EHS.
While no Falcons recorded hits, there were eight free passes handed out by the Redbirds' pitching staff; three to Fennell, two each to Kistner and Ramsey, and one to Bayles.
The Falcons' next game is scheduled for Saturday at the Marissa Tournament.
