BASKETBALL: Wheeler, Davis, Brueggeman named to IBCA All-State Team
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Illinois Basketball Coaches Association released it's All-State teams for boys basketball this week and Du Quoin seniors Connor Wheeler and J.C. Davis along with Pinckneyville senior Steven Brueggeman were selected in Class 2A.
Wheeler was named to the third team, after receiving a second team honor in the Associated Press All-State balloting. Davis and Brueggeman both appeared among those in the Special Mention list. Wheeler was the only player in the Southern Illinois River-to-River Conference Mississippi Division named to the third team or higher with Nashville's Sam Brown the only Mississippi representative on the fourth team.
Rounding out the first team for 1A and 2A were Newark's Kyle Anderson, Pittsfield's Brad Hamilton, Hales Franciscan's Aaron and Aaric Armstead, PBL's Dylan Overstreet, Murphysboro's Jerrod Gaston, Winnebago's Marcus Posley, Orion's Tanner Williams, Salt Fork's Joel Learnard, Woodlawn's Dawson Verhines, El Paso/Gridley's Codey Funk, Teutopolis's Nick Schumacher, Midwest Central's Michael Berg, Dee-Mack's Matt Krause and Rockford Christian's Brayden Teuscher.
