</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Elverado pitcher Corrine Wilson didn't allow a hit after the first inning and Lacey Qualls drove in three runs as the Lady Falcons knocked off Dongola 9-0 on Thursday afternoon in Elkville.

"(Wilson) did a great job for us as cold as it was," said Lady Falcons' head softball coach Donette Wheatley. "Kelsi Teague hit the ball very well for us today, Qualls also had a good day at the plate. Our defense made the plays and backed Corrine."

Wilson (2-1) allowed three singles in the first four hitters she faced, but not a single base hit afterwards as she struck out 8, walked 2 and went the distance for the shutout.

With the game scoreless in the bottom of the second, Meghann Trammel walked with one out before Abby Grammer reached on an error to put runners at first and third. Qualls doubled to left, knocking in both Trammel and Grammer for a 2-0 Elverado lead.

The Falcons did some more damage in the third, as Chelsea Cochran led off with a walk and scored on a triple by Teague. Erica Will plated Teague later in the inning, then Qualls and Faith Odom drove in runs with base hits to make it 6-0.

Teague added an RBI single in the sixth and Wilson drove in another run with a triple later in the inning as the Lady Falcons cruised to their second victory of the 2011 season. The senior first baseman was 3-for-4 on the day, scoring twice and driving in a pair of runs.

Qualls (2-3, 2B, 3 RBI), Wilson (1-4, 3B, R, RBI), Trammel (1-3, BB, R) and Odom (1-2 RBI) had the other hits for Elverado. Cochran, Grammer, Will and Sami Hicks also reached base and scored runs.

The Lady Falcons host Marissa on Friday at 4:30 p.m., then head to Benton for a round-robin on Saturday.
